Effective: August 1, 2026 (last updated September 14, 2026) · PicSpot is published by MadApps Studios.
Account details (name and email address), photos and videos you upload to a Spot, comments and reactions you post, basic usage/analytics data needed to run and improve the service, advertising identifiers (see Advertising below), and subscription/purchase status if you use PicSpot Premium.
We use PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to understand how PicSpot is used (for example, when a photo is uploaded, a Spot is created or joined, or a purchase is made) so we can fix problems and improve the app. This is aggregate product-usage data, not sold to anyone.
To operate PicSpot: signing you in, pooling photos into the Spots you join, screening uploads for prohibited content, and providing optional editing features. We do not sell your personal information.
The app's photo editor processes cropping, rotation, adjustments, filters, text, and frames on your device. Edited photos are uploaded when you choose to share them to a Spot. Camera filter effects are processed on our servers when you add a captured photo to a Spot. A separate optional AI editing service uses Claid.ai, a third-party AI image-processing service, to enhance a photo only when that edit is requested; AI auto-edit is not currently available in the app.
Uploaded photos and videos are automatically screened for prohibited content using Sightengine, a third-party content moderation service, before or shortly after they become visible to other Spot members.
PicSpot plans an optional face-grouping feature that, once available, will be off by default and require you to opt in before any photos you can see are grouped using face-detection technology. It is not yet available in the app. We will update this policy before it launches.
Free-tier use of PicSpot shows ads served by Google AdMob. PicSpot requests non-personalized ads. AdMob may use advertising identifiers and related device information to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's own privacy policy. Where required, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, PicSpot asks for your consent before showing ads, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings under Ad privacy choices. PicSpot is intended for people aged 13 and older. PicSpot Premium removes ads.
PicSpot Premium purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and subscription status/entitlements are managed on our behalf by RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-management service. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
If you turn on notifications, we send your device's push token to Expo's push notification service (a third-party delivery service) so we can notify you about new photos. This is off by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings, and per-Spot in that Spot's mute setting.
If you tap "Start a Spot from your calendar" or turn on Event reminders, PicSpot asks for read-only access to your device calendar. Event titles, times and locations stay on your device. They are sent to PicSpot only if you create a Spot from an event, and then only the title and time you confirm. Event reminders are scheduled locally on your device, are off by default, and can be turned off at any time in Settings. You can revoke calendar access at any time in your device's system settings.
Photos you add to a Spot are visible to that Spot's members. Uploader names shown in the app are labels only and are never embedded in image files. You can remove your own photos, and Spot owners can remove photos from their Spots. Shared photos remain visible to members until removed or the account/content is deleted as described below.
You may delete your content or account at any time in the app or by contacting us; associated media is removed from active systems. Deletion requests are processed promptly; some information may persist briefly in backups before being purged on our normal backup-rotation schedule.
